ANCHORED is a deck that began as I started my own healing journey from a lifetime of complex trauma and a newly emerging chronic illness.
In 2017, I was overcome by chronic pain, fatigue, and dissociation. I felt completely unmoored from myself. I couldn't write, but I knew I needed to channel what was happening to me through art. So I returned to my teenage love of collage, and began to create oracle cards. Overtime, I came to see that each card represented something that I needed along my healing journey. Creating this deck served as an anchor in turbulent waters, and I continued to add to it over many years, as my own healing processed and unfolded.
Five years later, I'd finished 75 cards and the project felt complete to me. But then I began to consider how ANCHORED might help others as it had helped me, and began writing the guidebook. I know that therapy is not accessible to everyone, which is why I wanted to bring this deck into the world. I also wanted to help folks feel connected. It can so often feel like our healing happens in isolation.
What is ANCHORED: a deck for healing?
ANCHORED is a deck of 75 oracle cards, each serving as... you guessed it... their own anchor. You can pick up this deck in moments where your nervous system is dysregulated and ask the deck for the anchor you need. It can also support you in other hard moments in life: before a job interview or a first date, after you’ve spent the day with your family, after a hard conversation with a loved one. You can also start your day by pulling a card and let that anchor guide you.
You can also use it to learn more about trauma and different practices for healing. The accompanying guidebook is 200 pages, and is written from a trauma-informed, social-justice perspective. Because trauma and healing are not just personal issues, but political ones. We cannot heal ourselves if we do not also heal the world that we live in.
The guidebook includes some psychoeducation about each card's meaning and its significance within our healing, as well as a practice, an invitation to deepen into the anchor, embody it, and integrate it. These practices include journal prompts, somatic tools, visualizations, rituals, art prompts, and questions.
There are also 6 different card spreads you can use for inspiration, each centered around a topic related to healing, from reparenting our inner little ones to letting go and letting in, as well as a bibliography and recommended reading list for those who want to nerd out and learn more.

It’s important to note that I’m not a therapist or clinician. I’m a human being living with trauma, who has done a lot of training and research in trauma healing (you can learn more by clicking my “about” page). As someone working in the field of peer-to-peer trauma healing, I try to carefully acknowledge where I am out of my own depth and scope of learning and practice. I have not offered practices here that I wouldn’t share with loved ones.

FAQs
How do preorders work? Once preorders close on September 10th, I will have the funds to get the printing started, and anchored should be ready to ship in November. I say “should” because there are forces outside of my control that can create shipping delays. Of course, I will keep you updated every step of the way.
Can I include other items from your shop in my preorder? Yes AND doing so means that you’re okay with waiting for everything to be shipped all at once. Overall, I would recommend placing your orders separately, because some products are sent via letter mail (to save you money).
Will anchored be available for purchase in the future? Yes, that is my hope. I’m just not sure when it will be. If you don’t want to miss out, I’d recommend subscribing to my newsletter.
What if my address changes? Before we start packing orders, I’ll send out an email to everyone with a link to share your updated address.
Testimonials
"My experience with the Anchored Deck is filtered through my lens of being an artist, therapist and survivor. Margeaux and their team created a product that's a lovely invitation for us to explore the layers of our healing and humanity. The deck is equal parts vibrant, eclectic, therapeutic and whimsical. In the last few weeks I've pulled it out with a number of clients as a way to reflect on the relationship between the parts of them that have survived pain and others that long to live more fully. This deck is a reclamation tool and one I'm confident supports us in further homecoming." - Mel Gentry Bosna (she/her), MSW, LCSW and author of In the House of Me
“As a therapist and fellow human living with complex trauma, The Anchored Deck has been a valuable and playful tool for myself and my clients, especially the teens I work with. This unique deck includes layers of wisdom about the nervous system and the creative pursuit of reconnecting with ourselves over and over. I love the invitations for action the cards include as well-- using Anchored is both an inward reflection and a gentle mobilizing force. It's even inspired some of my teen clients to make their own collages. I know Anchored will continue traveling with me from house to office, on trips, and into my nature adventures. It is a grounding tool that I continue to find a home within.” – Katie Jones, Somatic psychotherapist
“I love my deck. Since receiving it, I've made it a nighttime ritual to do a small spread or choose a card at random to think about and use as a writing prompt for my journal. I appreciate the ritual and framework that it creates for my writing and exploration. I'm navigating a difficult season emotionally and using this deck has helped me to further explore the subtext of my sadness and anger as I continue to integrate my past traumas with my present life. I've brought my deck with me to therapy appointments and to show friends.” – Rebecca, Paralegal
