trauma-informed conflict transformation

from $0.00

A pre-recorded webinar.

About the webinar:

For those of us living with trauma, we may have learnt that conflict always equals punishment; or we may have lived in homes where conflict occurred and then everyone pretended like it never happened; or we may have learnt that conflict was to be avoided at all costs. Sometimes it’s all of the above. Later in life, we can come to learn that conflict is totally normal and it can be productive and necessary for growth!

In my work as a conflict peer adviser, one thing I continued to notice in terms of how folks responded (or didn’t respond to) conflict was the presence of their trauma responses. When our trauma brain is activated, it is very hard to move through conflict because we’re unable to access curiosity, compassion, and collaboration — three key ingredients for conflict transformation. Understanding what trauma responses get activated during conflict AND how those trauma responses shape our conflict modes is integral to moving through these hard moments.

In this two hour webinar, participants will:

  • Be provided with an introduction to trauma and our trauma responses

  • Learn about six different conflict styles

  • Connect those conflict styles to trauma responses

  • Leave with a better understanding of how both show up when conflict occurs

Participants will also receive a 20-page workbook with further reflections and exercises to support conflict transformation.

About the facilitator: Margeaux Feldman spent three years as a peer advisor at the Graduate Conflict Resolution Centre at the University of Toronto, and holds a certificate in Conflict Resolution. During their time in this role, Margeaux led 100s of graduate students through conflict resolution workshops and provided 1:1 peer support. After leaving this role, Margeaux created their Conflict Transformation workshop series, and ran the 8-week long course Beyond Conflict.

Please note: I am not a therapist, psychologist, or social worker. I’m a writer and educator living with complex trauma. I have a certificate in Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy from the Embody Lab. You can learn more about my educational background here.

Workshop Cost:

I strive to make my offerings accessible for everyone, regardless of income. I've created a few different sliding scale options with the hopes that those who can contribute more will do so, thus enabling me to offer free/low-cost spots to those who need them.

  1. Level 1: FREE for BIPOC. These spots are reserved for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour.

  2. Level 2: $30. For those who’re low income, no savings, have minimal expendable income each month, and couldn't otherwise afford to attend without this option. If this level is inaccessible for you, you can email support@margeauxfeldman.com to ask for a discount code.

  3. Level 3: $50. For those who’re low to mid-income, with some money in savings and/or financial support from family; has some expendable income each month.

  4. Level 4: $70. For those who’re mid- to high-income/stably employed, with savings account and financial safety net; can afford to take vacations and make other large purchases with relative ease.

  5. Level 5: $90. For those who’re upper class and/or have benefited from intergenerational wealth.

Given that the majority of customers are based outside of Canada, the prices are in USD. If you live in Canada and the exchange rate is an access barrier, please reach out to support@margeauxfeldman.com for a discount code.
